As the parents of 8 children, Mr. Joens and his wife are deeply involved in the Orange County community in which they have lived for some 20 years. Mr. Joens coaches youth sports, such as soccer and baseball. Mrs. Joens has served on the board of Irvine's Meals on Wheels program. Mr. Joens has donated his time to serving as an arbitrator in various types of disputes as an alternative to matters going to court; and, he has also given of his time to such educational endeavors as high school mock trial competitions.
In practice, Mr. Joens has found the greatest satisfaction in representing individuals and small businesses.
